This F/A-18 Super Hornet 3D printable model is great for desk display, collection shelves, gifts, and aviation fans.

Recommended FDM Print Settings (PLA / PETG)

Best for: easy printing + strong parts

Material: PLA (easy) / PETG (tougher)

Nozzle: 0.4 mm

Layer height: 0.16–0.20 mm (use 0.12 for sharper panel lines)

Walls/Perimeters: 3

Top/Bottom: 4–6 layers

Infill: 10–20% (increase to 25% for thin wings)

Supports: Only where needed (Tree supports recommended)

Adhesion: Brim if wings/tail are thin

Speed: 40–60 mm/s (slow down to 30–40 for small details)

Orientation Tips (FDM)

Print wings flat for cleaner top surfaces

Print the fuselage so visible surfaces face upwards (reduces support scars)

If the model is multi-part, keep seams on the underside when possible

Resin Print Settings (Optional section)

Best for: maximum detail

Layer height: 0.03–0.05 mm

Supports: light supports on hidden surfaces

Hollowing: optional (add drain holes if hollowed)

Post-cure: follow your resin brand’s cure time

Finishing (makes it look “premium”)

Light sanding: 400 → 800 grit on support marks

Primer + paint: gray primer, then your preferred aircraft scheme

Optional: panel line wash for details
